Every year, more and more people join in the celebration, either by participating in the procession or by enjoying the parade as spectators.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The streets are prepared, a few days before, by installing numerous <\/span>cannons <\/span><\/b>all over the streets, on both sides of the pavements. In one afternoon, these cannons will shoot <\/span>tons of colourful confetti<\/span><\/b>, simulating an incredible rain full of life. In addition, the cannons have different designs of <\/span>marine elements<\/span><\/b>, such as mermaids and dolphins, reminiscent of summer days in this town.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This huge confetti shower is complemented by a <\/span>continuous light and music show<\/span><\/b> that turns the event into a super<\/span> outdoor party<\/span><\/b>, and totally takes the chill off.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>origin <\/span><\/b>of this celebration is somewhat ambiguous. The festival, as we know it today, dates to the <\/span>1980s<\/span><\/b>, when a festival committee decided to organise this event for the first time. <\/span>But it is also said that, on one occasion, a group of friends went out into the street to throw pieces of paper at each other.
