It was built on the site of an ancient Visigothic church in the <\/span>12th century<\/span><\/b>. It has an impressive <\/span>Gothic architecture<\/span><\/b>, with high vaults and beautiful stained-glass windows. The building is striking for its majestic <\/span>main fa\u00e7ade<\/span><\/b> formed by a large Gothic portal surrounded by abutments and large arches. One of the most popular is that of the “<\/span>Devil of Tarragona<\/span><\/b>“. It is said that the architect locked the devil in one of the pillars of the cathedral. Therefore, it is said that if you put your ear close to the pillar, you can hear his whisper trying to escape.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On the other hand, we find the <\/span>Church of Sant Pere Ap\u00f2stol<\/span><\/a>, located in the picturesque fishing quarter, the <\/span>Serrallo<\/span><\/b>, a fine example of <\/span>neo-Gothic architecture<\/span><\/b>. Years later, the architect was inspired by the stairs of the bell tower for his masterpiece, the <\/span>Sagrada Fam\u00edlia<\/span><\/b>. Speaking of the <\/span>bell tower<\/span><\/b>, this iconic symbol of Reus offers a breathtaking panoramic view, stretching from the city to the Prades mountains and the coastline. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Misericordia Sanctuary<\/span><\/a> is located at the end of a charming tree-lined promenade. The <\/span>Renaissance building<\/span><\/b> is notable for its incomplete but imposing main fa\u00e7ade. Inside, visitors are impressed by the <\/span>frescoes <\/span><\/b>and the majesty of its design, with a single nave and three chapels on each side. The sanctuary contains the image of the <\/span>Virgin of Mercy<\/span><\/b>, an object of deep-rooted devotion in the city.
