This new change was because they wanted the new market to be closer to the city’s expansion.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The design of the structure of the Central Market was commissioned to the Tarragona <\/span>municipal architect <\/span><\/b>Josep Maria Pujol de Barber\u00e0<\/span><\/a>, a renowned town planner who reflected the modernist style of the time in his works. And, on the <\/span>roof<\/span><\/b>, a <\/span>ceramic design<\/span><\/b> has been created, following the original modernist style. Despite the modernisation of the building, it has managed to maintain the 20th century aesthetics, such as the metal roof and the fa\u00e7ade. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n At the main door of the market, which opens onto Pla\u00e7a Corsini, you can enjoy the spectacle of the <\/span>carillon clock<\/span><\/b> that announces the hours of the day. This jewel, made up of different elements of the <\/span>Seguici Popular <\/span><\/b>(popular elements)<\/span> de Tarragona<\/span><\/b>, is the work of <\/span>Joan Sarrami\u00e0<\/span><\/a> from Tarragona.
