Among its grape varieties, <\/span>Garnacha <\/span><\/b>and <\/span>Cari\u00f1ena <\/span><\/b>stand out, especially in terms of red grapes, and Garnacha blanca, for white grapes. In total, up to a hundred wineries make wine under this <\/span>designation of origin<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>DO Montsant<\/span><\/b>, which geographically surrounds Priorat, offers a different but equally outstanding offer. The wines of Montsant have four <\/span>historical <\/span><\/b>and predominant <\/span>varieties<\/span><\/b>, such as Garnacha blanca, <\/span>Macabeo<\/span><\/b>, Garnacha tinta and Cari\u00f1ena; although you will also find others, such as Chardonnay, <\/span>Parellada <\/span><\/b>and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the festive wine par excellence and one of Catalonia’s most recognised exports. It currently has up to 149 <\/span>wineries<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The province of <\/span>Tarragona <\/span><\/b>has a very important olive oil heritage, with the largest number of <\/span>protected designations of origin (PDO) in Catalonia<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>DOP Siurana<\/span><\/b>, in <\/span>Camp de Tarragona<\/span><\/b>, is known for producing <\/span>extra virgin olive oils<\/span><\/b> of great smoothness and balance, using mainly the <\/span>arbequina <\/span><\/b>variety.
