Midsummer’s Eve (Sant Joan in Catalan) is the shortest night of the year and the key elements of this celebration are fire and water. In Catalonia, this celebration is one of the most popular and fun celebrations of the year. If you are in Salou, Cambrils, Lloret de Mar, Blanes or any other coastal town in the area, even in Barcelona city, you are in the ideal place to celebrate this night! The most typical way to celebrate Midsummer’s Eve is to go with your family or group of friends to the beach and set off firecrackers and rockets, or if you dare, create a bonfire, always remember to be very careful! Often on the larger beaches you will also find fireworks display to watch.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
